The signs on this slide apply to a maximization primal. A less-than-or-equal resource row has a nonnegative dual variable. A greater-than-or-equal row has a nonpositive one. An equality row gives a free dual variable. Variable signs similarly control the dual constraint directions. Don't copy these rules into a minimization formulation unchanged. First identify the objective direction and the exact way each constraint is written.
