20 July 2026 · Seminar

The Department of Chemical Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, is pleased to host a Distinguished Seminar — Publishing with Purpose: A Seminar for Researchers Navigating Today’s Scholarly Landscape — presented by Dr. Partha Pratim Pal of Wiley.

Speaker — Dr. Partha Pratim Pal, Deputy Editor, Wiley Physical Sciences Journals; Publishing Development Lead, India, Wiley
Date — Monday, 27 July 2026
Time — 10:00–11:30 AM
Venue — Lecture Room, 10th Floor, Engineering Building 4, Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University

Abstract

Publishing high-quality research requires more than strong scientific results—it also demands an understanding of today’s publishing landscape. This seminar provides practical guidance to help researchers navigate the publication process from manuscript submission to final publication.

Dr. Pal will discuss editorial strategies that improve the chances of passing the initial editorial screening, explain how anonymous peer review works from the perspectives of editors and reviewers, and outline the key principles of publication ethics that safeguard research integrity. The seminar will also introduce the growing importance of open science and its impact on research dissemination. Finally, the presentation will explore how artificial intelligence is transforming scholarly publishing, including its applications in manuscript screening, editorial workflows, and peer review, while highlighting future trends in academic publishing.

This seminar will be valuable for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty members interested in improving their publication strategies and understanding the evolving scholarly communication ecosystem.
